Celebrating the Completion of North Hills Drive with New Homeowner Cheyenne

Cheyenne, alongside her children, received the keys to their new home this week, just in time for the holidays.
Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha & Putnam proudly announces the completion of its transformative North Hills Drive community, culminating in the home dedication of new homeowner Cheyenne.

This significant milestone marks the end of a successful journey that began in 2007, resulting in the dream of homeownership for dozens of families. More than 35 houses were built in the North Charleston neighborhood, and as a result, over one hundred children now have a bedroom of their own.

Cheyenne, alongside her children, received the keys to their new home this week, just in time for the holidays. Their home is not only a personal achievement but also represents the final chapter in the North Hills Drive story, a testament to Habitat's commitment to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Since the inception of North Hills Drive, Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha & Putnam has worked tirelessly with volunteers, donors, and community partners to transform lives and neighborhoods in its two-county service area. The completion of North Hills Drive signifies more than just the construction of homes; it embodies the spirit of community and the shared goal of providing affordable housing for all. Habitat and its partners believe everyone deserves a decent place to live.

Cheyenne's journey to homeownership is a story of determination and community support. Through Habitat's homeownership program, she has not only built her home but also built a future for her family. Cheyenne completed 18 weeks of homeowner education courses and spent hundreds of hours working alongside volunteers to build her house.

As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported the North Hills Drive initiative. The contributions of donors, volunteers, and local businesses have played a vital role in changing lives and strengthening our community.
