Sure, we build houses... but we do a whole lot more.
Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha and Putnam has been helping provide people with safe and affordable homes. To date we have constructed 169 new homes with the support of an extensive network of volunteers, sponsors and full time employees.

Nearly everyday one of our teams is building a new home in our region. Construction work isn’t for everybody, but everybody can help. From helping out in our ReStore, to serving on a planning committee, volunteering on a committee or donating your professional services there is a way YOU can help.

Volunteer Opportunities

You and/or your group can help build houses! We work at a construction site every Tuesday through Saturday. Use our online Volunteer Hub to sign up for construction, email us or or call 304-720-0141

Construction isn’t for everyone, but Habitat is! We need volunteers for our Homebuyer Selection, Homeowner Support and ReStore Marketing Committees. These teams are active and the work is rewarding. Contact us if you are interested in serving with us.

Professionals in our area can provide technical, legal and educational services to Habitat as a way of serving the community. Donations of time and expertise greatly reduces financial burden of home construction and mortgage preparation. Contact us if you are interested in helping.

Income from the ReStore funds our building efforts and is a vital part of Habitat’s operations. We welcome help in our Charleston and Teays Valley ReStores. Use our online Volunteer Hub to sign up for a shift.
